Li Gang: Jingrui really has the biggest heart of any child I’ve ever seen. The heavens gave him a kind, magnanimous, and forgiving disposition—perhaps precisely to counteract the pain in his heart.
Jingruiiiii
I honestly think that if Jingrui had hated him he’d have found it easier to bear. Lin Shu can handle hatred, especially when it’s justified, but this … a betrayed, inherently noble young man saying to him “I know why you used me, I know why you sacrificed our friendship, and it’s okay. I forgive you. I treated you with friendship because I wanted to, not because I thought I deserved the same in return”. Except he did. He really, really did. Lin Shu’s face. Honestly, Jingrui, just stab the man, it’d be less painful for him. He already knows he’s become a ruthless son of a bitch, you don’t have to both baldly acknowledge it and then up and forgive him for it.
(This poor kid. Seriously. Him and maybe Xia Dong got the worst of it on the side of heroes. The world and Lin Shu both just were not kind).
You sneeze. I say “god bless you”. I realize my mistake and follow up with a “no holy”, assuring us both that our friendship is still about sinning together
